Fantasy Football Week 5!
Bye weeks are here.
Its time to find out if you have truly built as good a team as you tell people you did.
Atlanta, Washington, Denver, and New Orleans are on bye so no Brees, Cousins, Ryan, Freeman……..a lot of Fantasy Football studs out this week.
But don’t worry! Your Fantasy Football Hall of Famer is here to help you decide who to Sit, Start, and who could be a sneaky play to help you get that W this week.
Sit : Philip Rivers – SD – It’s a never ending road trip for the Chargers, even at home in their 27,000 seat stadium they don’t hold an advantage. He put up decent fantasy numbers at “home” in a loss to the Eagles but this week they travel across the country for a matchup with the Giants and that tough defense. It has all the makings of a rough week for Rivers.
Start : Jameis Winston – TB – 368/4. 356/2. 301/2. 316/4. What are these numbers? They are the Yards/TDs numbers that Alex Smith, Drew Brees, Deshaun Watson, and Cam Newton have put up against the Patriots D the first 4 weeks of the season. And this week, Winston and the Bucs welcome them to town where Winston will continue that trend of carving up that secondary.
Sneaky : Brian Hoyer – SF – I don’t have any numbers to back up this argument. Aside from week 3 against the Rams, he hasn’t performed. There are calls from the “49er Faithful” to see what CJ Beathard has to offer in what is seen as a lost season. But on the road against the Colts, in the dome, in a game I suspect will be a high scoring shootout, Hoyer could be a nice plug and play for you Matt Ryan, Kirk Cousins owners out there.
Sit : Marshawn Lynch – OAK – I told you before the season started not to expect much out of him and I’ve been right through 4 weeks. He doesn’t look explosive. He is not good catching the ball out of the backfield. And at this point, he is nothing but a TD dependent guy that you drafted way too high. He gets the Ravens this week at home and I’m not expecting much out of him
Start : Duke Johnson – CLE – Johnson has been effective 3 weeks straight. A RB that will lineup in the slot, his targets and receptions have gone up. He’s averaging 81 yards per game and has a rushing TD in the last 2 games. All that and they have the Jets coming to town this week. He is to DeShone Kiser what a Blanket is to Linus.
Sneaky : Doug Martin – TB – He’s back after a 4 game suspension. The Patriots have not been good on Defense and they will need to run the ball effectively to keep the ball out of Tom Brady’s hands. Expect the Bucs to feed the baby.
Sit : Amari Cooper – OAK – A fantasy disappointment so far. You took him high and he is not producing. He’s dropping passes at a high rate. He has zero confidence. And until he proves he can catch the football, he needs to stay on your bench
Start : Dez Bryant – DAL – If Dez can’t do it in a game where you know they need to throw to keep up with the Packers, then he’s never gonna do it. But, that said…..I think he does this week so get him in those lineups.
Sneaky : Geronimo Allison – GB – The Cowboys have been bad on defense and it doesn’t get easier for them with the Packers coming to town. Ty Montgomery is hurt. Devonte Adams is dealing with a concussion. And with so much focus on Jordy and Cobb, I think Allison benefits with a nice game.
Sit : Delanie Walker – TEN – Marcus Mariota is dealing with a hamstring injury and its too early to tell but he might not play this week. So even though they get Miami this week, if it’s Matt Cassel under center, sit Walker
Start : Ben Watson – BAL – Flacco has been looking his way and they travel to Oakland for a matchup with a Raiders defense that can be had by TEs.
Sneaky : Austin Sefarian Jenkins – NYJ – The Jets WRs are flakey. ASJ is a big target and has shown he will catch what comes his way in 2 games back. Little by little, McCown is going his way more and more. He has a nice matchup with the Browns this week so he could be in for a good game.
