Mike’s Week 2 Sit, Start, and Sneaky P.O.T.W.

So week 1 has come and gone aaaaand……..

It wasn’t pretty.

It was rough. Scores were low. But hey! At least football is back!

We lost David Johnson for 12 weeks. Allen Robinson and Kevin White for the year. Danny Woodhead for 2 months.

BUT……

We had a breakout star in Kareem Hunt, who I thought you should consider sitting and playing Charcandrick West instead (West did score a TD though so it wasn’t all bad).

Tarik Cohen (who you’ll read about later) has Jordan Howard owners worried. And Alex Smith was the highest scoring QB (We all saw that coming).

And now we move on to Week 2. 1-0 or 0-1, it doesn’t matter! Hopes are still high! And I’m here to help!

Oh and by the way, I have now officially been inducted into the Fantasy Football Hall of Fame and will from here on out be called “Fantasy Football Hall of Famer Michael Gaspar”.

With that being said, here you go. Your Sit, Start, and Sneaky plays for week 2.

QB

Sit : Matthew Stafford – DET – He started off slow against the cardinals last week but finished with 292 yards and 4 TDs. This week, they travel to MetLife to take on the Giants and say what you will about the Giants offense but that defense is really good and I think Stafford struggles this week

Start : Derek Carr – OAK – He went into Tennessee and had 262 yards and 2 TDs and this week he gets a matchup at home with the Jets who made the Bills look pretty good. I say he puts up 300+ yards and 3 TDs

Sneaky  : Carson Palmer – ARI – I’m not big on Carson Palmer this year. He started off against the Lions going 27-48 for 269 yards, 1 TD and 3 INTs. This week he gets a cherry matchup with the Colts and with David Johnson out, he needs to step up. And I think he does that this week.

RB

Sit : Mark Ingram and Adrian Peterson – NO – Figuring out who will get the carries week to week out of these 2 will be tricky. I’d be looking to trade them while I can. Add all that to the fact that their O-Line looks terrible and you have a situation to avoid.

Start : Tarik Cohen – CHI – (14% Owned) He was the talk of training camp and flashed during the preseason. The Bears put him on the field in week 1 (46% of snaps. Jordan was in for 53%) and he responded with 5 carries for 66 yards and caught 8 of 12 targets for 47 yards and a TD. Its going to be hard for the Bears to keep him off the field. He’s been getting the Darren Sproles comparison but I’m calling him this years Tyreek Hill.

Sneaky : Kerwynn Williams – ARI – (8% Owned) David Johnson is going to be out 2-3 months. Williams stepped in for Johnson last week, scored a TD, and gets the Colts in week 2. There is talk they could sign Chris Johnson but in the meantime, grab Williams off waivers and get him in your lineups. Also, Andre Ellington could be a sneaky flex play.

WR

Sit : Marqise Lee and Allen Hurns – JAX – I know Allen Robinson is out and one of these 2 will have to try and fill the void. But if if you thought they wanted to run before, imagine how much more they will now. They have a matchup with Tennessee this week, who will be angry after letting Oakland come into town and run them over, literally. But avoid the Jaguars passing game until they prove there ia one.

Start : Terrelle Pryor – WAS – He and Kirk Cousins were a little off but he still Managed to turn 11 targets into 6 catches for 66 yards. The volume will be there as they travel to L.A. to play the Rams and I feel like he responds with a huge game.

Sneaky : Jordan Matthews – BUF – He caught 2 for 67 last week against the Jets. The Bills get the Panthers this week and Tyrod Taylor can’t throw to Charles Clay all day. As the season goes on (and IF Matthews stays healthy) I think they develop a nice connection. But for this week, especially for you Allen Robinson owners in deeper leagues, he could be a nice play.

TE

Sit : Jack Doyle – IND – Until Andrew Luck returns, I will not recommend a Colts position player. Chances are you drafted Doyle to start for your team and until Luck returns I suggest you look to the Waiver Wire for help.

Start : Jared Cook – OAK – (38% Owned) I personally do not trust Jared Cook. Never have. But he caught all 5 of his targets (3rd most on the team) last week for 46 yards and he gets a nice matchup with the Jets.

Sneaky : Cameron Brate – TB – They get the Bears this weekend who didn’t look bad against the Falcons. I know OJ Howard is the shiny new toy, but Brate is a red zone vulture and I think he’ll get a few catches and a TD this week.

Want some Defenses?

Raiders vs Jets

Cardinals vs Colts

No write up necessary for these Defenses. You know why.

Good Luck,
